Career Pathway Internship Course

10th and 11th grade students have an exciting opportunity to enroll in the Career Pathway Internship Course this Summer.

The SDUSD Internship course will provide students with an introduction to career pathways in the Business and Finance Industry Sectors, Engineering and Architecture, Health Science and Medical Technology, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Information and Communication Technologies, Education and Family Services, Marketing, Sales and Service, and Arts, Media and Entertainment. Students will explore general principles of business, finance, career preparation, economics, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and key 21st Century Skills, with an overall emphasis on collaboration, communication, global interconnectedness. and technological applications.

Assignments will draw on real-world, hands-on learning experiences, including internship work, outreach to industry professionals, job shadowing, and career research. Seat time will predominantly consist of internship and on-the-job hours, learning in a professional work environment, and connecting classroom instruction with real world applications.

After completing this course, students will have a strong foundation in business practices and communication, they will have developed an e-portfolio to showcase their learning, and they will be prepared for more advanced courses for their CTE capstone course.

Students will have the opportunity to earn the Master Certification in Entrepreneurship, by becoming certified in Entrepreneurship and Small Business and Design for Delight.
