Every year, the Chemeketa Scholars process changes just a bit! Ultimately each student must USE the Chemeketa website to navigate the process correctly.
To be a SCHOLAR: you MUST have a 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA by the end of semester 7 of high school/S1 of senior year.
The "Process":
January of Senior Year: Apply for Admission to Chemeketa Community College
By Feb 10th (right after semester 1 finals) your senior year: Order a high school transcript.
Early Grad Junior? Get a letter from your counselor saying you are on track to graduate with the Class of X.
Late February: Fill out the Scholars scholarship form when it goes live in late February.
Chemeketa Scholars offers 2 years of full time tuition! The deadlines are hard. No exceptions.
Chemeketa requires that Scholars maintain a 3.25 college cum GPA to keep the scholarship.
All students may also apply to Chemeketa Foundation Scholarships Application opens in January/February.

Combine/stack as much college money as you can!
File your FAFSA or ORSAA in fall of senior year. Do it early. Get help. Do it once. Do it right.
File your Oregon Promise in fall of senior year - Oregon scholarship money for a 2.0 GPA (Yes, you can currently "stack" this money!)
Aim for Chemeketa Scholars 2 years tuition free with a 3.5 UW cumulative GPA by the end of semester 1 of senior year.
Go after Chemeketa Foundation Scholarships.
Go after local scholarships.
Work for a company that offers tuition reimbursement.
