The Student Theatre Ensemble (STE) is a student-run theatre group at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts. STE is entirely produced, directed, designed, built, marketed, and acted by the talented students at SSU.
STE aims to provide creative arts opportunities across the Salem State campus for students of all majors and demographics. STE welcomes and encourages the creativity of all students, regardless of major, concentration, or skill level. Students collaborate together to create their own art, pieces that can be proud of, while learning valuable lessons about the theatre industry and beyond.
STE produces two full productions each year, one during each regular academic semester. STE also hosts a handful of staged readings, open houses, game nights, and the annual Theatre Banquet.
Additional information about the Student Theatre Ensemble, as well as ways to get involved, can be found on STE’s social media pages. E-Board members also host regular office hours in the Student Organization Suite of the Ellison Campus Center at SSU.
The purpose of The Wright to Perform is to create a space for theatre majors, minors, and non-majors to gain experience and knowledge primarily in playwriting. Students will also have the opportunity to perform in, direct, and work on each other’s works, culminating in a showcase each semester to present student work.
Dedicated to sharing the stories of people of color and sparking social change.
