What to know if you are considering law for university

• Some countries will allow you to study Law straight from your undergraduate degree. Consider whether you are interested in studying law from the beginning, or whether you are interested in a more broad-based education and then pursuing law after your undergraduate degree. Notably, law is a postgraduate degree in the US - you would study another degree at undergraduate then apply for law school.

• In countries where you can study Law as your undergraduate course, many offer combined "Law + X" degrees that might be of interest to you.

• Check for whether you need an entrance exam. 

  • For example, many universities in the UK require you to take the LNAT. Other universities might shortlist applicants and require them to take an online entrance exam and/or participate in interviews. 

• Consider where you want to practice law in the future. It is most straightforward to receive a qualification from the country you plan to work in. Not all degrees are recognized by all countries. For example, in Singapore you can see what local and international degrees are recognized to apply to the Singapore Bar as a lawyer.
