Indicating an undeclared major on college application is not a bad thing. But listing a major which makes sense with your strengths and experience is a better thing (well, at least for right now). Admissions officers may consciously evaluate an application based on a student's major.Â
In fact, most colleges (esp. in the US) do NOT require students to officially declare their major until the second semester of sophomore year. Uncertainties abound, and plenty of students would change their minds after that. So when declaring your major question on the application, consider that it is not forever. It is just your expression of interest —right now.
