Thank you all for joining the Lion City University Fair September 24th, 2025.

Here is a list of recommended questions to ask during the fair. Be selective about those that are important to YOU as you are on a whirlwind tour of a dozen schools.
BEFORE THE EVENT:
DO YOUR RESEARCH. Make sure the questions are NOT already covered in the admission brochures or website. It’s important to consider details and insider information that is not as easily available.
You may also enquire from your College Counselor if there are any SAIS graduates attending the university.
Take a virtual tour if one is available on the school’s website. Check out the location and surroundings on googleearth.com
DURING THE EVENT:
Connect on a human level -- go up to the representative, smile, give a firm handshake and introduce yourself. Ask that exhausted rep how they’re doing. More than anything, it’s about your presence.
Please be mindful if there are other people also waiting to talk to the representative.
Be sure to listen to the answers college reps give other students as someone else might have already asked one of your questions. Representatives appreciate it when you do not ask a question that they just answered a moment ago.
Before asking questions, make sure to indicate whether you are what they consider an international or domestic/home student.
Ask the same opinion-type, open-ended questions of a variety of college reps (and don’t be surprised or dismayed if you get different answers!)
i.e. What is the best rumor you've heard about this school? Any truth to it?
i.e. What is the ONE thing you would change about college? Or where does the school need to improve? What is the #1 complaint from students?
i.e. What type of student do you feel really fits in at your school?
It is ALWAYS a good idea to jot down your general impressions as soon as you can, and preferably before your talk to the next school representative. Your memories will invariably run together unless you take a few moments to write down your likes (and dislikes) of what you heard about.
