1
Shoot your shot and take a chance
So much can be said in just one glance
Not my whole life but a large piece
Traveling the world from Paris to Greece
I Don’t want to look back with regrets
Now’s the time to make my bets
2
I’d walk through fire, for there’s
Not a person more that I admire.
This flame inside me will ignite and
I imagine it blazing and bright.
For a glimpse of you I deeply yearn,
For you my God I shall forever burn.

I’m old-fashioned, the 20s are where I wish to be.
A world with typewriters and record players would fill me with glee.
I’m certain that is the era where I belong.
No social media, or internet; just a life to live long.
4
Listening to the people and watching my world fade.
Watching all of them like a movie being played.
The untold stories lying behind their eyes.
All of these people just living their lives.
5
Once upon a time
In a land far away.
The grass was brown
And the sky was grey.
The castle was abandoned
No one on the throne.
As I entered the village
I left behind what was known.
I wandered through the castle
And came across the east wing.
There I found a broken prince
With forsaken dreams of being king.

Have you ever read the words of a broken soul?
You feel their shattered heart and want to make it whole.
You cannot comprehend who would inflict such pain.
Who could promise them freedom and bind them in a chain?
Some suffer in silence some make them tales.
People read their sufferings and make good sales.
These broken souls can make the darkness lighter.
This is the blessing and the curse of being a writer.
