Paraprofessionals for the Network Schools have a calendar that covers all student attendance days plus the following professional development days listed below. Attendance on the PD days is part of their overall pay and no timesheets need to be completed. If a paraprofessional is not able to attend due to illness or some other reason, they need to take a full sick day or personal day (preplanned) of leave, otherwise the time will be counted as unpaid leave.
August 2 & 3 (before students return) - 8 hour work day with 30 minute unpaid lunch (7.5 working hours)
Training Fridays - Paraprofessionals work from 8:30-2:30 with a 1 hour lunch:
October 13
November 10
December 15
February 2
March 8
April 26
Topics for paraprofessional training will be developed by the special education director with input from case managers, school psychologist, and building administrators. Training may be delivered by any appropriate staff member and may also utilize outside materials (e.g., SESTA). Paraprofessionals are expected to attend the full day of training and to participate fully.
Staff children may attend ESage at Sage Boise at a discount on these training days with prior arrangment with ESage. Staff children need to be supervised/cared for in a location other than the school building as these training days are considered work days and staff need to be present and engaged in their work.
