New Teachers

Homestead is excited to welcome these new teachers to the building! Be sure to read all about them and help make their transition to our school easier!

Sam Anderson

Sam Anderson student taught at Homestead in the Fall of 2022 before getting hired as a Special Education Teacher in the Spring. He is from Naperville, IL and coaches the Unified Flag Football team, as well as the Homestead club lacrosse team. 

Emily Lindstrom

Emily Lindstrom earned her B.S. in Chemistry and French from Hillsdale College and her M.A. in Teaching from Western Governors University. She worked at a large chemical company (BASF) for 12 years and held various positions from chemist to quality manager. She spent her first year of teaching high school science at Veritas Scholars Academy.

David James

This is David James' 13th year in education and first year at Homestead. He graduated in 2010 from Urbana University in Ohio with a B.A. in Education and History. For the past 6 years, he taught social studies at Warsaw Community High School. Mr. James also has over 15 years of experience in the history field as a museum tour guide, grant researcher, and non-profit board member. 

Nadine Owens

Nadine Owens is a Mild Intervention Teacher and her background is in accounting. She previously worked at Woodside Middle School. This is her first year at Homestead and she is excited to help her students reach their goals.

Kristen Mast

Kristen Mast is a school counselor. She has been in education for 14 years, working mainly with elementary school children and their families. She received her Master of Education in Counselor Education degree from Purdue University Fort Wayne. She was a temporary counselor at Homestead last year, but is excited to officially fill her new roll.

Kenzie Baldwin

Kenzie Baldwin teaches English 10 and Honors English 10. This is her eighth year of teaching. She received her bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Indianapolis, and has her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Purdue Fort Wayne. She has worked at Bellmont High School in Decatur these last two years while she has lived in Fort Wayne. 

Jordan Cain

Jordan Cain is thrilled to be the new Director of Bands and Orchestra at Homestead High School! Mr. Cain was born and raised in Orange County, California, and he received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Minor in Wind Conducting from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Before his appointment at Homestead High School, he was a director at Snider High School. 

Melinda Godfrey

Melinda Godfrey is excited for her new position as Directed Learning Lab teacher. She is also currently the cross country and track coach at Woodside Middle School. She enjoys helping kids, so she was excited when this position opened up. She loves all the opportunities that Homestead offers students. 

steve saddington

Steve Saddington teaches teaches U.S. History at Homestead.  He graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Business and Accounting in 1997. He spent four years as a Campus Life Director for two high schools in Fort Wayne. He also went to IPFW to get a degree in Social Studies Education and a minor in Math.  For the past 20 years, he has been teaching at Huntington North High School, and he coached soccer there for 16 years as well.

Elise Chadwick

Elise Chadwick teaches Spanish 2 and 3 at Homestead. She graduated from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a degree in Spanish education and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Spanish. She has also lived in Spain, Guatemala, and Peru. Last year she taught Spanish 1 at Woodside Middle School and has also taught for 12 years at Huntington University as an adjunct instructor.

Joanne Reyes

Joanne Reyes teaches Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 at Homestead. She graduated with a B.A. in Spanish from Ball State University. She's worked with elementary school students in a Dual Language program and taught at Bryan High School, Wawasee High School, and most recently at Carroll High School. 

Marcy Blundall

Marcy Blundall, a Homestead alumni and previous Summit Middle School instructional aide, is the new Career Exploration teacher. Mrs. Blundall went to Butler University for her undergraduate marketing degree then went to Indiana Wesleyan for her Masters in Business. Mrs. Blundall is thrilled to combine her love of business and education.
