September Athletics!

Spartan athletics are off to a great start this fall, and September is a busy month for all our fall athletes! Below, you can find the September Athletic Calendar (click directly on the image below to take you to the Homestead Athletics Homepage), Senior Night information, and Student Section highlights. Homestead athletic events are always full of energy, especially as our varsity athletes enter their post-season competitions this month! Let's go Spartans!

Mrs. Teusch

Pronounced Toy-Sh

Mrs. Teusch is a new athletic director here at Homestead. Being an athletic director has an abundance of responsibilities, and her position was added so she could work alongside Mr. Irwin. She coached track at Huntington North high school while Mr. Irwin worked there and Mrs. Teusch enjoyed her time. After Mr. Irwin came to Homestead, Mrs. Teusch and he remained friends. As the new position was added to Homestead, she saw it as a great opportunity for her to return to high school athletics, something she holds close to her heart. Mrs. Teusch previously worked as the Dean of Students at an elementary school, but has spent many years coaching in various different sports. During high school, she played basketball and also ran track. In addition, she made the history books by being the very first female to run on the cross country team at Marion High School. She then recruited others to join so they could compete as a full team. Here at Homestead, she plans to spend this year watching and learning while working to possibly create a student athletic council because Mrs. Teusch strongly believes students should have a say in the way their athletics are handled. Be sure to look out for Mrs. Teusch and give her a friendly welcome to Homestead!
