28 Febuary 2024
I enjoyed the session. The seniors were friendly and went out of their way to help us. I also made a slide about space exploration and travel. The session was intresting , engaging, informative and educational. I hope to see future sessions like this one.
6 March 2024
The session was enjoyable. My team and I presented our slides in front of the rest of the members. All of the slides were very informative and engaging. I learned a lot of new information, such as the fact that Europea, one of Jupiter's moons, might have life. We also explored the competitions that we can participate in in the future. However, a lot of students were making a lot of noise and not paying attention, and I think that this can be improved on. Overall, i find that the seccion was intresting and the behavior was mostly orderly. I wish to see more future sessions like this.
20 March 2024
We sat down in the auditorium and did our diagnostic tests. It was very challenging and i didnt know most of the answers, but I managed to complete it. At 6pm, we did our first stargazing session! We went to the basketball court at block D and looked though telescopes that the seniors set up. It was extremely fun. However, I think that the noise level was too high, and we could have been more well behaved. Overall, I think it was a very intresting and engaging session.
27 March 2024
Today, we started off with a presentation on the solar system and its planets. There was a lot of intresting information, some I didn't know. The seniors presented it in a way that allowed the audience to pay attention and stay engaged. Shortly after, we played a round of Blooklet. There were questions about the topics we learnt about earlier. Although I wasn't one of the champions, it was very engaging and I hope that we can do one occasionally .
3 April 2024
Today, the lesson was about formulae. They were quite complicated, and I didn't understand some of them, but in the future I should be able to. The formulae included some trigonometry formulae, as well as some regarding celestisl bodies and scientific laws by Newton and Kepler. Overall, it was good and engaging.
17 April 2024
Today, we learnt about the history of rockets, how they work and thetheir components (no formulae today). One of the seniors did the talk, and managed to keep it intresting and engaging, while also allowing it to be eucational for us, and also cracking a few jokes while presenting. However, some of the other members got distracted and started to talk to each other instead of listening, which forced the presenter to stop and wait for them to listen multiple times. Overall, it was a good session. We did a google slide about a space mission that happened https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1dElot1q3964Y9ij0h8icHDLCaTfI8LuRXisHsrDN_n0/edit?pli=1#slide=id.p I'm too lazy to explain here
26 june 2024
done like 2 weeks after the session bc no access i dun rlly remember
At the start, the seniors shared their experiences in the astrisk competition. they did a lot of intresting things, some that we are unable to do here in Singapore. We also learnt about galactic bodies' gravitational pull and rocket physics. At the end, we watched a video about Kepler and his studies, mainly with Mars' weird orbit. cant rlly remember anything else tho
10 July 2024
Lost access to the thing for like 3 months finally got access back
Today we learnt about galaxies, quasars, blazars and more. The presentations were intresting and educational. At the end, we played a blooklet. Although I didnt win, I had a lot of fun. Some other people joined the seniors kahoot somehow idk why
31 July 2024
Today, we were learning about tides, seasons, time zones and other things to do with our planet. There was also a kahoot after that. Although I still didn't win, it was enjoyable and fun. I still don't know why universal coordinated time is called utc and not cut i find it kinda confusing enzo istg stop typing in my reflection
7 August 2024
(Whats even going on I was at AMC) I learnt about accretion and stuff (idk the rest)
14 August 2024
Today, we learnt about atomic and nuclear fission and fusion (goodbye Hiroshima). It was very intresting, and i see myself using this reguarly in the future. We also learnt about nebulae, quasars, supernovae, etc. We played a kahoot, attempted to play a gimkit that failed miserably, and a blooklet with like 19387 people hacking. And then we were showed a simulation of our solar system, and created a supernova that crashed the mac book for like 10 minutes. Overall, it was a very intresting and educational session.
13 October 2024 enzo stop typing in my section
Today, we took the final exam. It was quite hard, but i managed to complete it eventually. I ended up failing, scoring 39% (i blame gavriel :D). Overall, the lessons have been intresting, but the fact that we were taught something completely different each week left me a bit confused, and the lack of hands-on activities didn't allow me to put what i learned to use (thats why i blame gavriel :D). I hope that this, as well as myself will be improved on next year.
8 January 2025
First session of the year. There was a presentation on the solar system and on planets and dwarf planets. There was also a quiz on identifying the different types of rocks found on the moon. We studied three different types, anorthosite, basalt and impact breccia. After that, there was a kahoot quiz, reviewing whatever we learnt earlier. Someone included a trick question that everyone hated and im not allowed to put death threats in my reflection. Overall though, it was a good session and I learnt a lot of new information from this.
15 January 2025
Today's lesson was about the very planet we all live on, Earth. We learned about everything in the earth, including the atmosphere and the different layers in the earth. The atmosphere has 5 different layers, the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, the thermosphere and the exosphere. The different layers of Earth are the crust, the layer we all live on, the mantle, the thickest layer, and the core. Today's session was extremely informative and i learned a lot. However, many members were making a lot of noise, making it hard to concentrate and hear what the speaker is saying. I hope this can be improved on. (3rd place woohoooo)
5 February 2025
Today's lesson was about astroids, meteors and comets. I finally learnt the difference between meteors (entered the atmosphere), meteorites (came into contact with surface) and meteoroids (hasn't entered atmosphere). Another interesting that i learned is that comets have two tails. One is the ion tail, that points in the opposite direction of the star that it's orbiting around due to the solar wind repelling it, and the dust tail, that is the trail left behind it. There was also a presentation on the formatio of the solar system. I learned a lot of new information from this session, and i hope future ones are just as good.
12 February 2025
Today's session began with the presentations we made in the previous session. Most of them were full of new information and i learned a lot from them. After that there was a presentation about the moon. We learned about its formation, where there are multiple theories about, and the craters on its surface. When a meteor hits the moon, it creates an explosion that sends ejecta everywhere, creating a crater. However, very big craters are created very rarely, with craters of over 100 km diameter only forming every billion years! I learnt a lot from this session, and I ope there can be more like this one. also enzo stop hacking
26 February 2025
Today, we attended a talk with Dr Poh Gang Kai from NASA about space weather. There are many types, like solar flares. Solar wind is plasma continuously flowing from the Sun, and is blocked by Earth's magnetic field. Solar wind is a big problem, because Mars does not have a magnetic field and if people live on mars, they risk getting cancer and other complications due to the high radiation. He also talked about satellites. I was astounded to learn that there are satellites orbiting the sun and many other bodies in our solar system. He showed us a recording of a solar storm that was filmed by a satellite orbiting the sun. The talk was informative and I learned a lot. I hope that we can get more people like Dr Poh to give us talks like these.
5 March 2025
Today's session was a recap of everything we learned earlier in the term. It helped me to understand the concepts better and refreshed my memory on some of the topics and facts that I had forgotten. The presenter was very clear while speaking, and always made sure that everyone was paying attention at all times. However, many of us were making a lot of noise and making it harder to concentrate, and weren't listening. This could be improved on.
12 March 2025
Today we learned about habitable planets and the habitable zone. To further our understanding in it, we made a habitable planet in universe sandbox. After multiple supernovae and depleting my ld's battery, I managed to successfully make one. But then it died and we used Lucas's one, and it sucked. Skill issue. It was fun though and I hope to have more hands-on sessions like this one.
14 May 2025
-Space Faculty Programme- this reflection is for the entire programme. We attended 10 lessons by members of Space Faculty, where we learned many things. Some examples of these are satellite orbits, and rocket fuel. <end>
23 Jul 2025 woah time skip
Today we played some card game. We had like no cards so the draw pile had like 3 cards, leaving us unable to play it properly so we ended up playing something else with them. After that there was another presentation about doppler shift for like the 6th or 7th time ag
My LD ran out of battery :( again :( again :(
