During the first CCA session today, we were tasked to work on a slide to explain and talk about why we should explore space and it was quite exciting to be working on a presentation on the first session. At first, we wanted to talk about black holes but after around an hour of time being wasted, we decided to work on slides to talk about how space has influenced us to invent new things that are useful in our daily lives.
Today we did a presentation of our group slides, it was not the best as most of us were unprepared and uncoordinated. We would really have done a whole lot better than we did much more preparation for the presentation. After we were introduced to the different competitions that we can commit ourselves to participate in to help us gain more experience and certifications that we can use for entry to further study. Today some interesting facts I've learnt is that freeze-drying food was actually an invention found out long ago that is being used now for foods in space.
Today we learn about the different types of telescopes, mainly reflector and refractor telescopes. Although smaller, the Hubble telescope is heavier than the bigger James Webb telescope as its lens weighs around one ton in mass. And I managed to try out one of the smaller telescopes to try and aim it at the moon, but because it was orbiting it was very hard to aim it at the moon so I took like 30 minutes plus to try to find it with the finderscope only to be called to leave after finally being able to see the moon through the scopeĀ
Today we learnt about the planets and objects in our solar system that orbit the sun and their characteristics like how far away they are from the sun in miles, kilometers and AU or astronomical units. As well as learn why Pluto is not a planet. It was a very enjoyable session today, and i hope there will be more such sessions. You can give us more time to take down the things.
We learnt about celestial mechanics and some of the formulas about it, such as the Spherical Cosine Rule, Spherical Sine Rule, Spherical Trigonometry, its Angular Distance formula, some things about the Rocher Radius/Limit, IOSS syllabus and why the three-body problem is complicated. Session could be better if it was a bit slower and clearer.
One thing to improve is add formulas so our brain will not fall asleep and can get some attack damaged to wake up and what I learned is about space exploration and the history of different stuff on rockets like the dumb inventor of rockets and the V2 and hitler stuff and the guy surrendering to the americans and stuff and I want to know properly like all the formulas and stuff cuz why not.

We learnt about binary star systems and their evolution, formings of it, properties, Roche Lobe, Doppler shift, approaching motion and receding motion, peculiar binary systems and their examples. Please make the slides word white so I CAN SEE IT PROPERLY PLS STOP USING BLACK AS THE FONT COLOUR WITH THE DARK BACKGROUND
Today it's just a lecture about electromagnetic theory, but could have been slower and could have added one more lecture we did some wavelengths thing and the antenna designing research for a measuring take radio. Improve by giving more lectures.
Lecture today was just smt i alrd learnt in astro olympiad on celest mechs and there were three presentations one I was part of then gavriel should actually present different things.
The lecture today was only about like galaxies and like milky way and not really that much interesting and please let us take notes on LD cuz faster typing and can we pls have more advanced stuff like formulas stuff and idk and the slides please make the font bigger cuz too small to read from afar and try to speak slower.
We learnt about stellar evolution and stuff and like about time and stuff and like Julian Day, J2000 Epoch, meteor showers, tides, seasons. Please like add more interesting stuff and stop with like the lame jokes cuz it just makes it less interesting and like we won't be like more inclined to want to focus and please let us our LDS to take down notes so we have more like focus on the lesson to remember better.
We learnt about accretion which we learnt before, nothing much other than that. Pls let us use LDs to take notes
We learnt about nuclear physics and interstellar medium and things like that and thank you for letting us take notes with LD. Please teach quantum mechanics
we did astro test quiz, almost passed bruh... yippeeeeeeeee
Learnt more about our solar system and kahoot yay and apprently the planet pluto isn't a dwarf planet and in fact is a planet, but the dog pluto is a planet, insane right did you know that the universe was made of dust??? i didn't know that until today!!
Learnt more about our earth and some blooket yay, its interesting to learn about tectonic plates and a lot of things about earth science and like the layers of the earth. It is so fun, I didn't even expect that this would be more interesting than astro olympiad. kinda soft though so easy.
Water rockets and getting wet, actually more water means longer flight which means further flight and maybe faster flight with more pressure. Learnt about Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune and just that stuff. From newtons third law, the gushing out of the water causes an explosive sort of propulsion that makes to go boom and fly
Nasa talk by Doctor Poh Gang Kai about space weather, so interesting and biggest flex is that i got a NASA sticker
I have learnt alot from thisĀ
