We can't actually visit a museum right now, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate art. At the start of the coronavirus closures, the Getty gave the world of art appreciators an at-home challenge.
We can't actually visit a museum right now, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate art. At the start of the coronavirus closures, the Getty gave the world of art appreciators an at-home challenge.
- First read the original challenge from the Getty:
- Then, do some research and find an artwork you would like to recreate. You can do a google image search or virtually visit a museum to get ideas.
- Re-create an artwork with objects, yourself, food, etc. Keep it simple or get as ambitious as you like! Take a photograph and make sure to use bright lighting.
- Upload your image alongside it's original to artsonia.com/class and write an artist statement about the original artwork. Note who the artist is, the title, how it was made, and the social/historical context. (You may need to do a little research) Due Friday @ 2
- After the due date, go to our gallery at Artsonia.com and view your classmates creations.
