In 1996, when the internet was still refered to as the information superhighway, Matthew Rumbelow (AUS) made a basic webpage about himself on Netscape Gold.

It was his "hello" moment into the ether. Not long after, a messaged was received from the great beyond with a simple premise that the sender shared the same name. As Matthew was quiet common name in Australia, this wasn't the close encounter moment Matt was hoping for.

No, replied the sender, we share the same full name. I name is Matthew Rumbelow too!

Matthew Rumbelow (UK) had started a weary e-friendship which then grew into a visit by Matt (AUS) to London for Christmas in 1997.

In 2002 Matt (UK) then travelled down-under and visited many family landmarks and drinking holes. In 2004 Matt Rumbelow (AUS) returned to England, meeting many of Matts relatives including Donald "Jack the Ripper" Rumbelow and staying with his father Neville in Kettering.

Throughout the association, no direct familial link had been found to connected the quasi-convict cousin to Matt (UK) Rumbelow clan.

This page is our attempt to solve this genetic conundrum as best as possible, utilising the dedicated work of Lesley Avery, the googling skills and Matt (AUS) and some dodgy ChatGTP AI routines.

Matthew (Mat) Neville Rumbelow (b. 1973) is the head of communications for Hornsea 2, the world's largest offshore wind farm project. He is also a writer and published author. Outside the world of corporate communications, Mathew has self-published his first children’s book, The Strange Tales of the Alphabet Children.

Matt was admitted to the Law Society and Roll of Solicitors 1999 following a Diploma in Law, Diploma in Legal Practice from The College of Law, London.

Mats parents Neville John Rumbelow (c.1930–2013) and Frances Ida Cornwell lived in Kettering, UK where Mat attended Lodge Park in Corby.

Matthew (Matt) James Rumbelow (b. 1974) has used his infectious enthusiasm to provided successful client relationships whilst gaining extensive technical knowledge and commercial experience within digital construction

Matt brings a unique combination of program and account management skills, along with more than fifteen years of mentoring experience within the construction sector working directly with hardware and software end-users.

Following his graduation from Architecture with Honours from UniSA, Matt was appointment to the role of Digital Design Lecturer. Over those five years of university teaching, he assisted students to develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges that construction technologies can provide.

Matt has continued to work closely with several University across the country, facilitating lectures, seminars, and technical masterclasses to students, user-groups, and industry bodies regarding digital and technical developments.

Whilst working alongside global software vendors such Autodesk, Trimble, and Leica Geosystems, Matt has identified many strategies that leverage the full potential of digital technologies across many industries. During this time, he was invited to conduct onsite demonstrations, workshops and “toolbox” meetings to engage with the end users and take onboard feedback, enthusiastic or indifferent.

Through his involvement with industry associations, peak bodies, and educational institutions, Matt has continually strived to bring industries together on all matters related advances in software, equipment, and legislative developments.

I don’t know if you’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT to verify genealogical records, but…WE ARE DEFINITELY RELATED!!! You are my third cousin twice removed. It took about twenty minutes to establish my line to Malen and Alice, and then about 30 seconds to link us :)

I used ChatGPT a couple of weeks ago to establish a line between myself and Jack Cornwell VC on my mum’s side of the family. It was incredible. This morning, I used it to establish a link to Sydney Rumbelow, who founded the Rumbelows chain of shops. Amazing. (FYI - he is my first cousin once removed).

Then I decided to see if it could work out the chain to link us together.

And it did.

Malen Rumbelow who emigrated to Encounter Bay is my great, great, great, great grandfather. WE ARE RELATED!!

I should add that all your research on Rumbelow.net was mined extensively by ChatGPT.

Fortunately, I have copies of quite a few death certificates and marriage certificates going back to my Great, Great, Great Grandfather, William Rumbelow who married Sarah Pammenton. That was pivotal.

Plugged it all into ChatGPT which did the rest.

Here is the 1841 census showing Malen & Alice and family. Why wasn’t William listed with them?

Here is the 1851 census and again William is not shown in this family. And neither is Godfrey.

Godfrey was living with the Flatt family. Similar to Arthur Rumbelow. Why?
