“HENDERSON —WATSON. — The marriage of Dulcie Helena Henderson, of Victor Harbor, to Thomas Keith Watson, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Watson, of Sefton Park, will be solemnised at the Parkside Baptist Church, on the 21st of December, at 7.30. No reception.”
Lindsay lived at Narrung but also owned a home in Russell St, Encounter Bay.
He contributed a lot of the information on which this record is based, as well as providing information for other branches of the family and we are indeed indebted to him for his great collection of photographs.
Lindsay Watson of Victor Harbour said: "I am not affected by the commercialism of Christmas but I think the kids expect too much mainly because of the television and catalogue advertising at this time of year.
"Many of the toys, particularly the elec-tronic games and remote control items are very expensive and I feel that some of the spirit and meaning has been lost in the scramble to keep up with the commercial side of Christmas.
"Father Christmas has taken over from the real significance of Christmas. "Another aspect of Christmas has been lost to the world of mobility. "Once families spent their Christmas holiday periods together, but now they are more mobile and spend their holidays either in-terstate or overseas, disrupting the togetherness of the festive season."
