At the start of the year 10 course you will learn some of the more advanced sketching techniques used to enhance your work and communicate more effectively. This will take some time to learn and practise the skills and techniques but your design work will look so much better for it.
2 Point Perspective Sketching
The next skill is to take the 2D sketched shape and translate it into a 3D form, using Onshape or another 3D CAD software. We will start with the Basic shapes sheet that you have done and you will need to use your scanned version of this sheet to then model in 3D. Your teacher will demonstrate how to import your scanned work into Onshape and then use that to resize (Calibrate) and model around. If you click the button below this will take you to some video tutorials.
Produce a 3D line drawing of your modelling of the basic shapes and you will need to save / export this so you can render the sheet digitally on an iPad using Procreate.
