The presentation below will guide you, step by step, with advice and what to expect for Paper 3. There are usually 10 questions of general D&T knowledge in Section A, which could be about any part of the syllabus (i.e. you could be asked to name workshop tools; signs; sketch a wood joint; name a process etc.) and then you will select One quesion from Section B which will focus upon either Woods; Metals; Plastics, with some of the questions combining two of the materials.
The Section B question will give you a design 'problem' or a 'solution' and then you will be asked to answer 8 parts (a) - (g) based upon the design. You should read through the guidance PDF below to see the breakdown of each question and types of response you should provide.
There are lots of Past Papers below that you can work through and each of these papers have worked 'model' answers so you can see the types of response you should be giving and how to access the higher marks. Also note that in sketched responses there are many ways to sketch and present ideas and the ones shown are just examples that would score highly.
Click on a button below to see the Question Paper from that year along with model answers for every question. All buttons filled in Red do not yet have model answers but the question paper is available for you to work through.
Note that the exam papers ending in 32 are the ones that are sat in Thailand. Other numbers are sat in other countries but you can see past papers.
Remember you can work through some of the Theory content about materials by clicking on the Outlined Buttons on the IGCSE Theory page.
I have added the mark scheme for this paper but I have not yet fully completed all answer and sketches.
