Watch this for instructions about the Zentangle Lesson 1
Your task is to create at least 3 Zentangle 'tiles' in black and white. The easiest way to do this is with a fine black pen and on white plain paper as this creates a good contrast between the white of the paper and the black ink. A standard 0.5mm fine line pen is good to use but if you have a thinner pen (0.3 or 0.5mm) then that would be ideal.
It is possible to use Procreate on an iPad but only if you have a stylus or pencil. If you do then you could create your design in that software if you wish.
On this page are examples of Zentangle tiles that you can use as possible starting points. If you wish to see different designs then you could type in Zentangle into Google Images or there are lots of examples on Pinterest.
I estimate that to complete this task fully, with detail and care, should take you the equivalent of 2 lessons in total, so this work is for 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy this creative work as many people find this relaxing at the same time as being creative.
Some of the senior school students are also using similar surface patterns for their work.
You can hand in images of your work on the 'Zentangle pattern design' assignment on your google classroom. A time-lapse video of you drawing also looks really cool. Feel free to submit a time-lapse video as well as a still images if you wish.
For a Zentangle you should use plain white paper as the high contrast of black on white is what makes Zentangle graphics effective.
When designing you should always present work to a high standard.
Procreate is a drawing app that you should be familiar with from school. There are other drawing apps that you could use but Procreate will automatically record a lime lapse for you.
