Your website layout should include different sized images and different image layouts. These are called content blocks and appear on the right hand side in the middle of the edit menu.
Text should be small and neat when writing textboxes but subheadings and titles can be bigger.
The intention of the website is to appear full and complete and detail every section of your project.
Images should be clear and never blurry.
Gaps and empty spaces should be filled with your work or your comments.
Your work should always be presented with evidence of how you completed your work, either through photos of screenshots.
The edit menu (on the right)
Content blocks are found in the edit menu on the right hand side of your website
Add titles and sub headings to divide different tasks or units
Text size is oversized and too big. There are too many gaps and spaces and the text is also all different sizes without a standard
Don't leave empty spaces or missed photos. Fill in the gaps or adjust your layout
The bigger the image the more important it will seem. That means for main images of your finished work or poster work. These images should be bigger or full sized as these are considered main pieces of work.
Big images: Posters, end of unit images, finished work (these count for more points).
Small images: Screenshots or photos to show a step or a process, comparing the works of others (other peoples work is less important than your work and should appear smaller), Internet images, logos, screenshot menus, photos of tools and equipment, close up/zoomed in/cropped images of work.
Although these are important in telling a story and provide good evidence to your project they would all be considered less important than your main posters and finished work.
Template example #1
A variation of different content blocks have been used. We can see many rows of 4 and rows of 2. Each image has a text box and the overall appearance looks complete.
Each text box is at least 3 or 4 lines long (sometimes much longer) and includes detail and description about the image
Template example #2
This blank template reminds us how we should use a selection of different content blocks and although some are repeated, they are varied and do change.
This means the website layout doesn't look boring and isn't always the same again and again
Template example #3
This layout example show how some larger posters or larger images can be included. Dependning on the size of the image or poster, the text length might need to be adjusted or empty gaps and spaces start to appear. Sometimes gaps can help divide a section but all gaps and spaces should be planned and controlled
Some gaps appear throughout the website example but most gaps are small. Text is the correct size and makes the appearance look neat and professional.
2 large titles can be seen, Bambu Studio and Evaluation. The titles are clear and divide the units of the website.
There is no need to build an empty template like this at the start. Instead the website should just be build and grow as you work through it. Your images might start to change or you might want to add a large poster in that could affect the next template layout.
This examples show some title banners in dark grey and a mix of different content blocks. There are some gaps and the student should consider filling thos gaps or adjusting the size of the images. Never increase the size of your text to fill a space - just write more or find a suitable image.
Upside down photos
Google sites does not allow you to rotate an image. If your image is upside down the best way is to open the original photo in your iPad photo gallery nd take a screenshot of the same photo and then upload the new screenshot.
Adding a content block in the middle of your site is easy. Example above.
Just click the area you want (step 1), then click the new content block from the edit menu (step 2) and then the new block will be added to that area.
Unsupported image type
If an image fails to upload, go back to your photo gallery and take a screenshot of that image. Then try to upload the new screenshot.
Moving images and textboxes
The only way you can move the images and textboxes like this example is if you have a bluetooth mouse connected to your iPad or you are using a computer/laptop with a mouse pad/mousepad. A bluetooth mouse costs about 300 baht.
