RST Radio is the school's brand new radio station. The station will feature various student work as well as quizzes, study playlists, daily shows etc..
Your task for the RST logo competition is to design and 'present' an idea for the new 'RST Radio' logo.
Your design must be presented to a high standard and submitted to the assignment on Google Classroom by the deadline.
There are some examples below to help you get started with ideas and at the bottom of the page there is also links to some further reading that you may find helpful. You can also do your own research as well to help you decide on a style for your logo design.
You can attach (to the Google Classroom) evidence of any inspirations, as well as a description of why your logo looks the way it does to help the judges of the competition understand the concept of your logo design. You must make sure you also hand in a high-quality image of the design you have made.
You can do it by had using pencils and pens or use Pro Create if you would like. It is your choice. You should aim to submit a time-lapse which will help the judges understand how you created your logo. If you draw in Procreate then it will automatically do a time lapse for you and you can export to classroom through the share tab. If you draw by hand, you will need to set up a camera.
The logo's above have all been designed to look aged / old. This is Retro design. Many of the designs feature black & white logos with an old fashioned microphone. Consider how you could design the RST Radio logo in a retro style.
logos above are far more modern in their styling. They include the use of colour and modern Fonts (lettering styles). Many have outlines to the text. Some are minimal' and based upon geometric shapes with clean' lines.
The themed style logo's above are based upon what the 'client' (the radio station) wants to suggest. Some of the logos suggest a Rock station, some a Pop station, Jazz etc. The 2 examples on the top left have used an 1980's / 90's Miami (Florida) style with 'neon style graphics. The logo on the bottom left is a modern version of a retro logo.
