Brett Weston was born on December 16, 1911 in Los Angeles, California. Brett weston is known for his photography. And he takes a lot of photos of unique, simple and natural subjects . Such as one of his photos he took of leaves it so simple and calming. Brett went to school in Mexico and that’s where he found his real love for photography. But he started when he was real young because of his dad which is a famous artist. Most of his inspiration in his photography come from traveling to places like Mexico and Germany. Some fun facts about his is has 14 books about photography that he wrote. Another fun act is the he was one out of 4 sons and was the close to his father.

Sally Mann was born on May 1 ,1951 in Lexton, Virginia . Sally is also known for her photography. She takes a lot of photos of girls that aren’t it they best ideal living. Such as a young girl smoking with a upset face.She take photo that shows the thing we don’t want to imagine that happening in America. She went school at Hollins university. She became a photographer because her dad is a famous photographer and she grew up with learning the ways of photography. Her inspiration is a controversial life for young children mostly young girls. A fun Fact about her is that she has 3 children. She uses her kids to model for her

Compare and Contrast

Brett Weston has very bright and lighting photos. He take a lot of photos of nature mostly plants and trees. He uses shadows in some of his photos to give it more detail. He uses angle down and up and he also uses basic point and shoot. The theme of his photography work is natural nature. Its very calming and relaxing.

Sally Mann has very dark lighting and a lot of shadows. Her photos give a very dramatic feeling. She takes photos mostly of children in a sad environment. She only uses a straight angle shot. Her theme is a controversial world .

They don't really have any Similarities beside the straight angle photos.

Critique

Brett Weston

One thing I like about Weston photos is that his photos are calming and natural. And his angles are good.

One thing I don't like about Weston photos is that he doesn't try different meaning to his photos there all the same kind of meaning.

A connection I can make is I like to take photos like Brett weston did.

Sally Mann

One thing I like about Mann is the her photos are unique and you don't see a lot of photos like hers. I also like how she uses different kinds of lighting.

One thing I don't like about Mann is that her photos are one kind of angle I which that she would use different angles.
