Our annual Freeport High School student art exhibition is now up and on display at the Freeport Community Library. This is a juried show that is open to the public. Each work was selected by the student’s art teacher and will be judged by the Freeport Woman’s Club.
Ribbons will be given for works receiving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. A majority of the works highlighted feature students in upper-level art courses. The show will stay up for the month of April. The judges are planning on reviewing the works next Monday (they usually leave ribbons directly on the works that "win"). It is always fun to see the works on display outside of Freeport High School. I encourage you to go check it out.

Thursday, April 16 • 4:00-6:00pm
Greely High School
Students and Families are invited to explore a unique college opportunity just north of the border. Join us at Greely High School on Thursday, April 16, from 4:00–6:00 PM for the 2026 Consider Canada Tour. Representatives from a wide range of Canadian universities will be on hand to share what makes studying in Canada both accessible and appealing for U.S. students.
This is a college fair event where you can meet with admissions counselors and learn about admission requirements, academic programs, costs, and the overall student experience.
Whether your student is just beginning the college search or already comparing options, this is a valuable chance to ask questions directly and gather clear, reliable information, without leaving Maine. No passport required, just curiosity.

The start of a new school year is a great time to take a look at the FHS Student Handbook.
FHS classrooms have shifted to a digital hall pass system called Orange Pass. All students sign out digitally to leave class for any reason. This system is replacing our paper sign out system and helps to monitor the location of our students and the "traffic" during class periods in the hallways. We have added Faculty Hall Monitors this year as well to help maintain the safety of the halls and school building. If you have any questions about the online pass system or logistics of the building, please reach out to Principal Jen Gulko (gulkoj@rsu5.org) or Asst. Principal Charlie Mellon (mellonc@rsu5.org).
