SOMETHING ROTTEN!
Calling all actors, singers, and dancers!
Come be part of the hilarious, high-energy world of Something Rotten!, the hit Broadway musical that puts a Shakespearean spin on showbiz—and shows just how crazy the Renaissance could be! Set in the 1590s, Something Rotten! follows two brothers who set out to write the world’s very first musical. It’s filled with outrageous characters, clever humor, and big song-and-dance numbers. Whether you love Shakespeare or think he’s totally overrated, this show has something for everyone!
Audition Dates:
Wednesday, September 10th and Thursday, September 11th, from 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM @ the FPAC
Callbacks (by invitation):
Friday, September 12th 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (if necessary)
Please bring a karaoke track of your audition song,16–32 bars (roughly a minute). Wednesday and Thursday both will be an opportunity to sing, Thursday we will do some scene work from the actual script.
We’re looking for a diverse cast of all experience levels!
November 7th–9th, 2025. There will be four shows, including two on Saturday, November 8th.
Conflicts will influence casting, and performances may not be missed. Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required.

* Learn to lead both on and off the field
* Learn how to communicate with adults and teammates
* You do not have to be a captain

Attend the 13th Annual Post Secondary Fair at Greely High School on September 18th. There will be up to 100 schools in attendance. This is a great way to connect with college admission reps and to learn more about these colleges and universities. This event is free and open to the public and does not require registration.

Attend Kids in Aviation Day hosted by the University of Maine at Augusta on the Brunswick campus. This event gives kids the chance to explore the many exciting aspects of aviation, including careers as a pilot, aircraft mechanic, and drone pilot. Activities will include virtual reality and drone flying simulations, aircraft riveting, tours of live aircraft, and many others!
Families can explore this fun and educational way to discover the world of aviation. This will be open house style allowing families to come and go as they please.

Seniors and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend our upcoming Financial Aid Night with FAME Maine. This workshop will help guide you through the FAFSA application process and allow you the opportunity to create your FSA ID.
*You will need to bring a Laptop or other device to create your FSA ID. You will also need access to your email & the ability to receive a text message.
FHS hosts an Enrichment Fair for our high school and middle school aged students each year. This is a great opportunity for those who want to experience the world before entering college or the workforce. Start planning ahead to see what your options are and join us in the fall when our fair returns!

The start of a new school year is a great time to take a look at the FHS Student Handbook.
To report a student absent, tardy, or dismissed early, please email fhsattendance@rsu5.org or call 207-865-4706, x7000. Include the student's full name, the date of absence/tardy/dismissal, the reason, and your contact info.
Please note that a doctor's note, or similar documentation,
is required for ALL appointment related tardies & dismissals.
This is school policy, that follows Maine statute.
Until documentation is provided, absences will be marked as unexcused.
If a student plans to be absent for personal or educational purposes (e.g. vacations, college visits, etc..), a Planned Absence Form must be completed & submitted, one week in advance. Completed forms can be submitted to Mrs. Meier in the Main Office.
Here are the directions to complete all of the required parent forms online in PowerSchool:
Step 1: Log into PowerSchool (if you don’t know how to do this please contact the main office).
Step 2: Click on 25-26 Updates/Permissions on the top left (just below Grades and Attendance)
Step 3: Update information in all four tabs
Please update/complete the REQUIRED parent forms online in PowerSchool.
