Need some extra help preparing for midterms? The The National Honor Society students are offering tutoring and midterm preparation this week, 1/12-1/16. They will be set up in the library where the math lab used to be. Feel free to stop by if you want some academic and/or moral support.
Acapella is a small group of singers who work together to create music from many genres using only voices. Their mission is to create music that they are proud of and to share the joy of song with their community. If you would like to audition please email Ms. Reynolds @ reynoldsd@rsu5.org to schedule an audition during advisory the week after finals.
Thank you!
Shop at Hannaford? Purchase a Hannaford gift card through the FHS PTSO and support our schools.
How it works: 1) You purchase a GC, 2) you get a GC for the full amount, 3) Hannaford donates 5% of that purcase the FHS PTSO.
Visit the PTSO website for details.
FHS classrooms have shifted to a digital hall pass system called Orange Pass. All students sign out digitally to leave class for any reason. This system is replacing our paper sign out system and helps to monitor the location of our students and the "traffic" during class periods in the hallways. We have added Faculty Hall Monitors this year as well to help maintain the safety of the halls and school building. If you have any questions about the online pass system or logistics of the building, please reach out to Principal Jen Gulko (gulkoj@rsu5.org) or Asst. Principal Charlie Mellon (mellonc@rsu5.org).
⬇ GUIDANCE ⬇
In the coming weeks, you'll see where all your peers have been accepted to in a display of college pennants on the bulletin board outside of the guidance office. Share with us all of the colleges you've been accepted to using this form and we'll hang up a pennant for each one!
We have college, military, and enrichment reps share valuable information about their programs with us. Interested students can sign up in advance for reminders about these sessions. Stop by Guidance for more info.
Upcoming Dates:
1/13: Air National Guard
Browse our 'Local' and 'Other' curated lists of scholarships. Deadlines are quickly approaching and we suggest applying as early as possible! Students need to request an official transcript from the Guidance office and obtain letters of recommendation for most applications. Don't delay!
Thank you for joining us for our Junior Post-Grad & College Presentation. For those who couldn’t attend—or for anyone who would like to revisit the material—you can watch the parent presentation recording or view the slides to support you in navigating the college planning process.
Check out the new Freeport High School Quarterly School Counseling Newsletter! Each issue is designed to keep our students, families, and staff informed about how we’re supporting the students of Freeport High School, upcoming events and helpful resources. Enjoy!
Check out this extensive list of more than 360 college campus tours on and off campus, virtual events, and interview information.
Our Enrichment Program Fair showcased a spectrum of local and international opportunities that can enrich a students education and personal growth. Some are yearlong, while others are summer, semester, or gap year programs. If you are someone seeking to experience the world before entering college or the workforce, check out these programs that have visited us in the past. If you're looking to get connected with one of the program reps from our recent fair, stop by Guidance and speak to Ms. Armes or your counselor.
