Step 3: Update information in all four tabs
(see images below for reference)
The school day runs from 7:50 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Students are expected to attend all classes regularly and are responsible for making up any work missed due to an absence.
Parents/guardians are expected to notify the school on the morning of their child's absence.
Absences not verified within 48 hours will be considered unexcused.
To report your child absent you can:
⭐ Call the main office, 865-4706 x7000
⭐ Email fhsattendance@rsu5.org
⭐ Send a message via Reach My Teach
Please note that provider documentation is required for ALL appointment related tardies & dismissals.
This is school policy, that follows Maine statute.
Until documentation is provided, absences will be marked as unexcused.
Students who are absent all day, arrive unexcused-late after 8:15 a.m., or are dismissed early from school will be ineligible to participate in after-school activities on that day. If a student is late to school or dismissed early due to an appointment, provider documentation is required on the day of the appointment for the student to be considered eligible for participation.
Please review this attendance document for more detailed information regarding our attendance policy.
If a student plans to be absent for personal or educational purposes (e.g. vacations, college visits, etc..), a Planned Absence Form must be completed & submitted, one week in advance. Completed forms can be submitted to Mrs. Meier in the Main Office.
Maine adopts new statewide policy limiting student cell phone use in schools. Starting August 2026, there will be no cell phones allowed in school. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with FHS POLICY regrading this change. Thank you!
