Intro Roll

This is the intro roll, the very first roll of film that introduced me to camera photography, for this project, I used a specfic amount of skills that I learned before I started taking pictures, for example, like some close disances, soft focus, and leading line, like this picture shown in the left side, this is a specfic use of soft focus, that the character is being blured from movement and the hallway stay focused, I choose to use this picture to represent my intro roll because it has a varies of element and it also shows a depth of understanding of composition. This roll is a stepping stone for me to step further into camera photography.

Leading Line

This set of roll is name under the project of leading line, for this 25 photo, I used a different degree of composition, seeking to perform leading line in my photo. In fact, after a few attempt, some of my photo came out amazing. One struggle that I faced while making this roll; that I couldn't find a good enviroment with saturated light source, ending up for a lot of my photo I have to put a specfic effort into it to make sure the photo came out the best result. This picture shown in the left is a good presentation of leading line, because it grabs the viewer's attention by letting the views following the extended line into the character, also the bluring of line also makes the background and character stands out from rest of the photo.

Shadow/Reflection

This set of roll is for the purpose of creating photos with shadows and reflection. I started this project after a quick thought of some available ideas and techiques I can perform in this project. But unfourtunly I had to give up some choices like taking pictures with shadows because the lacking of natural lights and strong light source. Nevertheless that, I ended up borrowing 2 side way mirror from Mr.Andreson, and using Close Distance to take the picture. The final result you see on the left side is me directly taking picture of camera itself reflecting in 2 side way mirror, I had this idea and I wanted to make something out of it, however, it would be better if this picture was taken under auto focus.

Silhouette

This roll of film is called silhouette. As you can see in the left, this roll is taken under a unique light enviroment, causing the photo to show a decent ratio of negative space. I used this composition skill by having some strong light source in the back of characters, and taking picture with camera from a darker area, by that the negative space can be best presented in the photo to have the effect of silhouette. I choose this photo to represent my silhouette set of film because it has a lot of negative space fullfilling the photo, and this is a very important element to silhouette pictures.

Details

This set of film is called details. This set of picture requires some photos with saturtrated details in it. From there, I thought of many composition skills, the first one I thought of is close distances; I always thought that the more closer you are to something, the more detail you can find out of it, like a microscope. But soon I realized, being close isn't enough, so I choose to add in with some sharp focus; the purpose of it is to let the detail perfectly exposed under the camera and we can dig out every of it just by looking at the photo. That is my defination of "Details". Something special about this film is its lightness, I choose to make it darker because I want to see some interesting contrast in it.

Portrait

This is a roll for portraits. Something special in this set of films would be that I used a lot of rules of third, just like the picture in the left presented to you. If you divided the photo into 3x3 scale, you would most likely to see that the head and the background would somewhat lined up inside the 3x3 scale. I choose to take portrait like that because for my personal favor, I like to keep my photo in a specfic ratio that in my opinion, best, at its max, representing the photo of portrait. Having a good composition ratio is very important to the portrait photo, because different composition can give differnt impression to the viewers.
