This is a very positive message that I wanted to send out, from doing this artwork, that everyone could be a hero, for saving someone's life.

Color Design

This work has been revised a serval time, it helped me deepen my impression from doing color study, and it pointed me the path to work on color.

Surrealism Collage

I like this work a lot because that has made my creativity would be able to shown in this art. I changed the face, and the watch, also the cloths, and it is all following the idea of surrealism, and also my imagination.

Scratchboard

Scratchboard has again deepen my knowledge of using decaying and negative space, and it creates good value.

Printing Extendition

This was what I evolved with the printing, I add creativity within it, and created a meaningful work with it.

Sgraffito

This introduced me into curving and clay work, and teach me of detail making and adding themes to it. I made it awesome by making two parts of details, and adding two different themes to it, also making it meaningful.

Curving Print

This also deepen my skills in making artwork of decaying space, and taught me how to print with curving, and I made effort and add creativity with it. By making this project I learned how work with different format and methods of printing.

Wire Project

This wire project has introduced me into using tool, although I really struggle with the "fish hook" making, I still done with passion and hardwork. Besides learning new technique, I also pushed myself into a new level and fully engaged myself.

Animal Assemblage

This project required us to made the trash became something that is memorable and beautiful. I faced a lot of challenges and I redo a serval time, I gave up many ideas, and I made a bunny with pattern and used cardboard and paper. This is one of the hardest challenge I face all years.

Independent Project

For this last project of the year, I choose to do perspective, not only because I enjoyed it the most, and more of it referred to the technique I used, I founded this project became the summary of this year that I spent in this class. During the process of making this art, I really are passionate about it, and Art became a meaningful project to me.

Thinking back to the purpose of taking FOA, which was to give me a little artistic inspiration and hopefully discover the fun of doing Art. This purpose has passionate me for all year long. Foundation of Art, I would like to describe this class with the words "Fun" and "Challenging". I founded this class was amazing at solving your stress because you can really laugh and learned a lesson in doing art, whenever you made something you are proud of, you gave a meaning to your work. But this class could be also a bit heavy sometime, for me, as a slow worker, I need time for myself to inspire myself for each art, and also limited time to finish each project, also squeezed my schedule tight, that led me to fully engaged myself and spent extra time after school, and still it is difficult to finish each project in a very limited time. But throughout the year, I founded this surprising, that this class are teaching you something that you wouldn't be noticed in other class, which is what you grow at the end of each project, whether is your life lesson, of your technique of doing art, you will always find something you gained at the end of each project, incredible that you learn 20 or more lesson in 10 months of your school life.

Within the time I spent in doing artwork, the technique I enjoyed the most are Linear Perspective and Decaying Art. Referred to Linear perspective, it led me into a new level of focusing on making sense in visual, paying close attention to each area of the image, and details deepen the knowledge each line, shade, and corner. Practicing doing perspective has also helped me earn skills on making value, during the perspective, it is required to pay closer attention to your shadowing because that also is another important factor that determined whether if your work seems realistic. Although I made a good job on it, there is still some struggle I need to face. For example, I need to make sure that everything matching up horizontal line, it is always difficult to do it because unlike others, I am really into it, I measured it with ruler, that I can't mismatch over 1 cm, else that will destroy my work progress, seems professional, but it is really hard to do it, and I spent time, and effort on it. Comparing to Linear Perspective, Decaying Art is a process that I'll spend my creativity on it. When I'm doing Scratchboard, I gained the skill of using Negative space, and really impacts my knowledge about how to define lines. The scratched line has created a pattern which in my opinion, you can create something very realism, or very creative. Whats interesting is, you can create something beautiful just using the line, and it also has a high balance of value. It is easier and more interesting project for me, as a slow worker. Also, by doing this project, I met serval essential hardships, from starting in scratch broad, you have to be a master in negative, which I had to basically renew the knowledge space using, and this pushed and limited my time, what is disappointed is that I had to work for an extra 4 hours to complete this. It was not a bad experience overall, it is still good to touch it and have a try, and as a result that this unit really helps me on the way of knowing lines, value, and visual making-sense.

Personally, I am proud of all of my project, but especially are Beautiful Oops, Linear Perspective, Mix Media, and Surrealism Collage. In fact, these are the project I spent time and revised, or put an effort in, from project to project, you can tell how my style has changed, I switch direction and moving on in the road of creativity and abstract. Compare to Beautiful Oops, Surrealism Collage definitely more abstract and detailer, but less patterning. Changing is always surprising to me, and Art always refreshes my inspiration, or I can apply these skills in my future career such as make a building sketch using perspective, with that being said, I still thinks I have space to improve.

Thanks for Foundation of Art gifted me a fun, creative class experience
