During this unit, we will study the rights and responsibilities of citizens. We will explore how our actions can promote the common good. Students will apply problem solving strategies to relatable community issues. We will learn about the purposes and differences between rules and laws. Students will explain why governments have laws, as well as how they are established and enforced. Finally, we will research the types of local governments and identify characteristics of our own local Rocky River government.
