Fundations is part of the Wilson Reading System. It is a multisensory approach to phonics, spelling, and handwriting. Fundations is a continuation of the instruction that students received in kindergarten through second grade. Each unit reviews prior materials and introduces new concepts. These new skills build on those learned in the past.
Assessments in Fundations are based on application of each unit's skills, so there is no set spelling list. Students will be required to apply the rules and concepts they have studied throughout the week. You can use the resources provided to help your child prepare.
