In third grade, math is taught using the Eureka Math Squared program. We are excited to use this newly-adopted resource for our K-8 classrooms. Eureka Math Squared is taught using a blended approach, including both direct, explicit instruction and exploration. Lessons logically progress from concrete (hands-on/ manipulatives) to representational (pictorial/models) to abstract (numbers/symbols). This program emphasizes accessibility for all students using "low floor, high ceiling" lessons that allow for differentiation. Fluency, deep understanding of concepts, real-life examples, and peer discussions are a part of each day's engaging lessons.
