Chinese

Chinese is a logographic language--meaning it is made up of characters rather than letters.

Cool FACT!

One word/character may have many different words inside of it so you learn more than just that one word when learning a single word.

China is the most populous nation in the world with 1.31 billion people. Mandarin Chinese is the mother tongue of roughly 917 million people, making it the most widely spoken first language in the world.

Chinese has also become one of the most valuable languages in the world. Anyone who knows how to speak and write the language has a clear edge.

A word of warning!

Chinese is considered one of the most difficult languages to learn. Many people, especially those who are native English speakers, find it challenging to learn and speak Mandarin Chinese fluently. If you plan to take this class--be prepared for the challenge and have strong study skills!
