FAQ's

  1. Did I have to take Theatre before?

No, all are welcome! We have both beginning and upper level theatre classes at Cedar Valley. The beginning level class (MS1) introduces things like acting, performance, theatrical design, improv, voice, and more. The upper level classes (MS2 & MS3) allow students to build upon these skills and act in more after-school productions too!

  1. What if I am shy? Do I have to perform all the time?

GREAT question. While Theatre Arts is a largely performance-based elective (speaking and performing in front of others), we also focus on designing things for backstage: like lights, sound, props, costumes, puppets, make-up, painting, and more! Students can learn that Theatre uses multiple skills in addition to performance!

  1. Do I get to be in a play?

All Theatre Arts classes will put on at least one afterschool production during the school year! (MS1 in May; MS2 in March; MS3 in November and February) All students will have the opportunity to work on the CeVMS Stage in either an acting or technical capacity with their classmates. As you move into MS2 and MS3, you will have opportunities to be in more after school productions on our campus!
