Conflict & Tension, 1894-1918:

This unit focuses on international relations from the Treaty of Versailles to the origins and outbreak of the Second World War.

• We compare and contrasts the aims of the Peacemakers in 1919, the decisions reached in the peace settlements and their implications;

• The origins and creation of the League of Nations and its successes and failures;

• Our final focus is an overview of Hitler’s foreign policy aims and actions combined with other factors leading to the outbreak of the Second World War.
