At GCSE, History remains a very popular optional subject with large groups in each of Year 10 and Year 11. We deliver the AQA History specification.
Pupils in Year 9 will begin with a preparatory review of some of the topics studied in Year 8 - Britain by 1901 and her position in the world, as well as an overview of European relations in the early 20th century. This will allow them to review the causes and course of the First World War in preparation for our first unit of work.
Paper 1 options are 1AB - Germany, 1890-1945 and 1BA - Conflict & Tension, 1894-1918.
For Paper 2 we study 2AA - Health & The People (a history of medicine through time) and 2BC - Elizabethan England, c.1586-1603.
