Over the Back Fence - Health lessons will start from February 22nd, 2020.
History:
Live weekly video lessons commenced in 2011. Lessons are planned and delivered by Rosmini College students to classrooms across New Zealand and to classrooms in the Pacific, Asia and the USA. Some classrooms have been involved for over 8 years.
A range of topics may be presented that focus on health and wellbeing. Lessons are 8-10 minutes in length and consist of opening questions to determine pre-knowledge, new material, how to use the new information, and end with some follow up questions and answers.
We appreciate the input from the classroom teachers determining the content focus and schedule.

Feedback:
"Thank you for a great session today with Josh and Alex. We will be online again next week at the same time. What do you suggest that we start with as a topic? I have asked my class as to what they would like and some suggestions have been on the lines of Tsunami and other disasters. I also thought bullying and cybersafety might be good as well."
"Great lesson yesterday. Very relevant to our topic this term and the children were really hooked onto it. Good questioning and well presented lesson Rosmini boys. Well done !"
"Thank you so much sir. Our students really enjoyed talking to the Chinese students and the song sung by them was really beautiful. The session was really good. Thank you." (From India)
"The time started from asking their future dreams and careers and they shared the reasons about their dreams and hopes."
"The Kiwi students reacted very well and they were humorous so my students laughed a lot. Also, I have a new girl student, who is quite good at speaking in English, so she continued to keep the conversation. Of course, they talked about the most interesting topic, having a girl friend or a boy friend or not." (From South Korea)
"For my students who couldn't understand several questions and expressions, your students wrote the words and expressions on paper to help them communicate better."
"My students, especially girls really like your students. I think it is a good motivation to take part in this conversation."
"One thing I hope is all the students in my group can have a chance to speak and talk with your students in spite of their low-ability to speak- maybe they need some time to speak.. Tom was good to ask each student a question. Thank you "
"It was fantastic sharing our Bhola students and NZ Rosmini students. My students have achieved lot of experience. They have shared our both countries transport injure and how to safe it and how to over come it and how to solved. This sharing and Skype session video conversation have encourage my students. I hope this successful finished will inspire my students in future any educational project with NZ. I am also enjoying this event. My trust i will do continue in future. " (from Bangladesh)
"Thanks for this year. We have had some interesting conversations following the lessons. The children are definitely more engaged when there are visuals for the children to look at, rather than just words. The boys have been very patient to with our layout and having to wait for answers to their questions. I tend to wait and see what the children are going to say to see if it is relating to their question first and this can take a minute or too. But they are very good with us, and some of the unorthodox questions they get back."
