Students in grades 10-12 should consider taking Dual Enrollment classes. Dual Enrollment classes allow you to earn college credit while simultaneously earning high school credit. You take the course at Broadway High School in the classroom taught by a high school teacher who has been approved to deliver college content to high school students.
The cost is very affordable at about $93 per college class. There is no fee waiver available for Dual Enrollment classes.
Broadway High School offers Dual Enrollment courses through Blue Ridge Community College and Dabney S. Lancaster Community College such as English 12, Calculus, Marketing, Economics and Personal Finance, and Horticulture. See your counselor for a full listing of Dual Enrollment course offerings at Broadway.

Students must earn a grade of at least a "C" in their Dual Enrollment course to receive college credit.

Students who signed up to take dual enrollment classes through Blue Ridge Community College next year will not be taking any placement tests this Spring. Instead, other test scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT), your GPA, and high school transcript will be used to determine eligibility for dual enrollment courses.
All Current Dual Enrollment students should have received the following letter through email...
Dear Dual Enrollment Student,
As you may know from Friday’s email, the Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System is instituting a default Pass/Withdraw/Incomplete grading scale for Spring Semester. You still have the option to receive letter grades (A, B, C, D, and F) but you must submit a request. This grading policy will not change the transferability of these course as long as you earn a P + or a letter grade of C. The VCCS has also extended withdraw dates (see bottom of the email). If you would like to request your letter grade for a course, see #3.
Policy Guidance:
1. Courses that have already ended prior to April 6, will follow the standard grading scale.
2. All courses that have not reached the course end date by April 6, 2020, will use the following grading scale:
3. If you would like to request your earned letter grade/s (A, B, C, D, F) instead, you will need to complete the letter grade agreement found here for each course. Requests must be submitted by not later than the last day of class instruction (prior to administering the final exam or project for the course). A student may submit only one grade request per course, and the request is not revocable.
For your information, the “last day of class instruction” for Rockingham is May 28, 2020.
