Action Steps

• Each school will have 95% of families participating in a two-way communication tool in their schools as indicated by documentation at each site.

• Create informative postcard - initiative to provide most important beginning of year processes and items to parents through the regular mail and other outlets.

• Provide informational session recordings for teachers and parents to set up Canvas accounts to enable two-way communication and information sharing at the secondary level.

• Provide district news for administrators to convey to parent groups/organizations during site based meetings and through school publications/social media platforms. Items of interest and progress updates on initiatives will be shared at K-12 administrative meetings to be included in parent/family meetings and publications at the school level.

• District parent advisory meetings will be held at least 3 times during the school year to provide information about RCS initiatives and gather input/feedback from parents representing different schools and grade spans.

• Identify opportunities to provide information in different languages. Find ways to inform families on how to access information through translation tools that are available online.
