Strategies

Goal 1: Develop a stronger and more productive relationship between board, central office, and our schools.

Strategies:

● Monthly strategic plan updates to monitor progress and ensure transparency, accountability and focus.

● As action items are voted on each month, the RCS BOE and Staff will identify the goal(s) that is tied to the strategic plan.

● Professional development needs to be differentiated, individualized and practical for all staff.

● BOE will hold an annual retreat in July to set priorities and focus for the coming school year.

● All RCS BOE members will participate in working committees.

Goal 2: Maintain a safe, productive, and efficient school district.

 Strategies:

● Develop a 5 and 10 year capital improvement plan with our County Commissioners (include funding) to address the long term building needs of the district.

● Develop a detailed facilities plan that will address the maintenance, updating, and replacement cycles of RCS playgrounds, parking lots, buildings, transportation services, security, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, technology needs and child nutrition services.

● Develop detailed procedures that will include responding (acknowledging) work orders within 24 hours of submission. The district will process, prioritize and complete those work orders in a timely manner.

Goal 3: Successful Superintendent search and hire for a smooth transition into the 2022-2023 School Year.

Strategies:

● Contract with an independent source to develop a process, expectations, and qualifications to fill the Superintendent’s position.
