Action Steps
The Curriculum & Instruction Department and the Instructional Support Services Department will meet monthly to collaborate around district initiatives and to improve communication between departments.
The District Office will create advisory councils for teachers, students and parents that are representative of the county to collaborate in order to increase better communication with various stakeholders at the elementary and secondary level.
The Schools will create councils for teachers, students and parents that are representative of the school community to collaborate in order to increase better communication with various stakeholders at the elementary and secondary level.
The Board Policy committee in collaboration with District and School Level Administrators will review the attendance policy (4400) as it relates to attendance and tardies (4302) and communicate that with stakeholders.
The Board Policy Committee in collaboration with District and School Level Administrators will review the Grading Practices (Student Promotion and Accountability Policy 3420) and communicate that with stakeholders. The Committee will present revisions to the full Board for Board approval.
The Curriculum and Instruction Department will facilitate the review of the Grading Practices for Elementary, Middle, and High Schools and present to the Board Policy Committee.
The District will implement a weekly "Shout Out" publication to all stakeholders with positive information from schools around the county.
A google form will be created to collect "Shout Out" pictures and narratives from schools around the district and shared with administrators.
School Administrators will identify a process in the building to collect and share information for the District "Shout Out".

An Early Learning Initiative Committee will be created to explore opportunities to share the educational responsibility for all RCS early learners.
The district will support schools and give guidelines and expectations for advisory councils at the school level.
