Dear Families,
As we come to the end of what has been a busy but wonderful half term, I want to take a moment to thank our children, staff, and families for their continued enthusiasm and support. It is an absolute pleasure to be part of the Roselands family, and I am so proud of everything that the children have achieved this half term. It was wonderful to see so many of you attending parents evenings this week - I hope that you found them informative and enjoyed seeing the work that your children have been busy doing! π
π Car Park Reminder: Please note that the school car park is for staff use only. A small number of families have been given specific permission to use the car park due to individual circumstances. For safety and to avoid congestion, we cannot allow general use of the car park, including by those with blue badges. We kindly ask all other parents and carers to use alternative parking nearby. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Another reminder; Monday, 3rd November is a non-pupil day. We hope you all enjoy a well-deserved rest over the half term break, and we look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday, 4th November. π
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Mrs Pippa Bastock

At last weekβs PSA meeting, we shared some important news - Claire Wing has stepped down as Chairperson. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Claire for her dedication, energy, and commitment to the PSA over the past 9 years. Claire has given so much of her time and enthusiasm to support our school community, and her efforts have made a lasting impact. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done. β Claire will remind heavily involved with the PSA for the remainder of this year π.
Weβre also pleased to announce that Jade Shergold will be stepping in as our new Chairperson. We know Jade will bring her own great ideas and enthusiasm to the role, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead.Β I also wanted to extend a special thank you to Ame, who works tirelessly as part of the PSA, to organise events that benefit our children.
We have a small, but mighty group of volunteers who make our PSA events and fund raising possible, if anybody else would like to join, please let us know.Β We have a range of exciting events which bring in money that goes directly back to the school.Β Our volunteers can give as much or as little time as they are able to - there is something for everyone!
On the topic of our wonderful PSA...we want to thank them for organising such a fantastic School Disco last week! It was a great evening - the children loved showing off their dance moves, and KS2 children especially enjoyed spending their pennies at the tuck shop. Weβre thrilled to share that the total profit so far is over Β£700, which will go towards supporting future school projects and events. Thank you to all of the parents, carers and staff who helped make it such a fun night!
This week, we have been inviting parents and carers to complete our school survey. As mentioned in our last newsletter, we always take time to carefully review the results and act on the feedback we receive. Your input is incredibly valuable in helping us continue to improve our school and ensure we provide the best possible experience for our children and families.
Please spend a few minutes completing this as the more responses we get, the more likely we are to be able to make changes that are important to everyone, as well as recognise what is going well!Β
Moonstone had a fantastic time at their Sports Festival last week, where they learned new skills, built teamwork, and celebrated each otherβs achievements. Mr Lowther was so proud of the way that they all represented the school during the afternoon.
A huge thank you to the parents who accompanied the trip to enable it to go ahead! π
Last week we welcomed our amazing community for a coffee morning and a chance to create some collaborative Christmas artwork π¨π! This wonderful art will be part of a Christmas exhibition in Paignton soon β watch this space ππ !
A huge thank you to Mrs Chapman for organising, to everyone who came along, and to our brilliant children πποΈ!
A big well done to Broadsands house who won our Spelling Shed League for this half term!Β You played 867 games this half term, which is incredible!!Β Seth proudly collected the trophy during celebration assembly this morning!
Robots and Rockstars Day was a huge success! The children and staff alike looked fantastic in their costumes, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Numbots and Times Tables Rockstars activities throughout the day. At Roselands, we believe that helping children to become fluent and confident in their Maths skills is key to supporting them in accessing all areas of the Maths curriculum. Days like this make learning fun, engaging, and memorable - while also celebrating the hard work our pupils put into developing their number fluency.
A big thank you to Mr Wearing for organising the day!
Today the children at Around the Clock Club enjoyed a spooky Halloween Party! There was pumpkin painting, Mummy wrapping, pin the nose on the witch and a range of other fun activities!Β A huge thank you to the staff for their planning, organisation and enthusiasm!Β We hope that the children enjoyed it!
Below is the updated menu for next half term - these meals are available for you to book in the usual way via ParentPay (this information can also be found on the school website).Β For those with special diet menus - you will have had an email about these, we will send them to you as soon as possible.
Each fortnight, we shine a light on class attendance to celebrate and encourage everyone to aim high! Check out how each class is doing and letβs keep up the effort. Every day counts - letβs aim for everybody to be an attendance hero!
Β Please note that the date and time has now been confirmed for the KS2 Carol Concert - this has been updated on the overview below.
