Dear Families,
It has been a couple of busy weeks at Roselands! Last week, we welcomed prospective Reception parents for our group tours. Our House Captains did a fantastic job of leading the tours and showcasing our wonderful school - they were true ambassadors, and we are very proud of them. Walking around school has been such a pleasure and we look forward to our next group tour.
Next week is set to be full of fun! We have our School Disco on Thursday, followed by Robots and Rockstars Day on Friday. Please check the letters sent home for more details about both events.
Looking ahead, our Fireworks Night will take place on Friday, 7th November. We really need volunteers to help make this community event a success - if you’re able to lend a hand, please contact Louise at lchapman@rivieraet.co.uk or call the school office on 01803 525375.
A gentle reminder to please ensure that children do not play on the outdoor equipment before or after school. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend 🌟. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

We’re delighted by the many positive comments - especially those recognising staff who go above and beyond and thanking the whole team for their efforts and support. We’re pleased that 85% of you said your child has settled back into school well. For those finding the transition harder, we’re offering extra support through in-class strategies and our pastoral team. If you think your child is struggling and needs extra support, please let us know.

Over the last two weeks, our KS1 children took part in an exciting Geography walk around the local area. Equipped with checklists and plenty of enthusiasm, they set off to spot and identify different features such as semi-detached houses 🏠, bungalows 🏡, supermarkets 🛒, and traffic junctions 🚦. The children worked really well with their partners to tick off each feature as they found it, showing great teamwork and curiosity along the way.
A big thank you to all the adults who joined and supported them on the walk - their help made the trip both enjoyable and safe!
Last Thursday, Tanzanite class visited Paignton RFC to take part in a School's tag rugby festival. The children had been learning the skills required in their PE lessons beforehand and put these into practice competing against other schools in Torbay. They represented the school superbly and we are very proud of their achievements.
It was the turn of Opal class to attend the sports festival this week! They were able to develop their tag rugby skills and all showed resilience throughout the afternoon. Well done Opal class!
It is such a pleasure to see children from all year groups fully engaged in this year’s curriculum. There is a real buzz around the classrooms, with children enjoying their learning and embracing a wide range of creative and exciting opportunities. From hands-on activities to inspiring discussions, every lesson is full of curiosity, enthusiasm, and discovery.
Here are some wonderful snapshots capturing our children in action, exploring, creating, and enjoying their learning journey.
The new pre-loved uniform unit in the main reception has been a huge hit so far! If you need some extra uniform, feel free to pop in and take a look. You can donate by bringing in cash, or scanning the QR code on the top of the unit. By reusing and recycling, we can all do our part to stay sustainable. ♻️
Each fortnight, we shine a light on class attendance to celebrate and encourage everyone to aim high! Check out how each class is doing and let’s keep up the effort. Every day counts - let’s aim for everybody to be an attendance hero!
