On Saturday May 7th, PCVI will host a day-long field to Western Massachusetts, to visit two sites: the Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood, both in Stockbridge.
Chesterwood is the summer home, studio and gardens of sculptor Daniel Chester French. French sculpted the Lincoln Memorial statue, the Minute Man in Concord -- as well as the Hazard Memorial in South Kingston RI and the Puritan and the Indian in downtown Providence.
Our visit to the Rockwell will start at 11am, and should complete our visit by 1pm or so. It is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes from Providence.
We'll eat lunch in between the two visits.
Our visit to Chesterwood will begin at 3pm, and will end by 5pm.
You are welcome to drive yourself, if you prefer. Let Mark know if you are able to provide rides for others as well. We will have an Operation Stand Down Rhode Island passenger van available, for those who would prefer not to drive.
