Boots and Safety Related Footwear:
Production and Maintenance Employees
Policy
Employees must wear protective footwear in the form of safety work boots when working in areas where there is the danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or the danger of objects piercing the sole, and where employees’ feet are exposed to chemical hazards. Safety footwear must meet all of the following requirements:
Work boot that is minimum 4.5 inch high, or providing ankle coverage
Safety toe included (such as, but not limited to, composite or steel toe)
Waterproof upper is required for all footwear, with a waterproof tongue required for lace-up shoes
Slip resistant sole
Must meet ASTM F-2413 safety footwear standards
As part of being ready and available to work for their shift, employees must be wearing the safety work boots, along with any other PPE as required for their role. Non-compliance will result in unpaid missed hours; either partially for returning home to retrieve their work boots or for the full-shift if the employee cannot return to work in a reasonable amount of time. Employees may potentially receive a warning, as well, for being unprepared to begin their shift or workday. All policies are subject to change and review.
Payments and Paycheck Reimbursement
Current production employees will receive $200 once per year, paid through their payroll check as a Reimbursement. This fringe benefit is intended to go toward the costs of purchasing new or maintaining current footwear. The fringe benefit, due to being a safety requirement enforced by Revolution, will not be subject to payroll taxes. Any type of taxes owed, if any, will be the responsibility of the employee.
Eligible employees will be at full-time status and have been employed by Revolution for a minimum of 90 days at the time of Reimbursement. The reimbursement amount of $200 will be paid out once per year, in the 2nd payroll check of February.
New Revolution employees will receive $200 after 30 days of employment, paid through their payroll check as a Reimbursement, and will not be eligible for the annual Reimbursement if paid one in the last 90 days.
