The Armstrong High School Pep Bands play at 8 regular season games (boys & girls hockey and boys & girls basketball) during the winter season. The directors take all of the students in the Armstrong Band Program and divide them into three bands (Pep Band A, Pep Band B, & Pep Band C) so there are students in 9th-12th grade in each band. Each Pep Band plays 1-2 times during the months of January and February. The Pep Band Rosters and Schedule are finalized and publicized after the December Concerts and before winter break each year. Each student (except percussion) will receive a folder of pep band music which will be rehearsed in class during the school day. Band is a co-curricular class and each student is required to perform at 3 games during the Pep Band Season; these are the performance component for 3rd Quarter. Students/families should do their best to attend the assigned games so the band has proper instrumentation and balance. If a student cannot make it to their scheduled game they need to make it up by attending a different pep band game. Students that attend extra pep band games will receive extra points and also earn points toward a Band Letter. Students will be required to purchase a matching Pep Band Shirt and information will be given out before the pep band season, cost is usually $10-14.
