AHS MB Update - 7/29/19

Welcome to the Armstrong Marching Band!! Here is update #2 for the fall season:

  • Armstrong Marching Band kicks off in two weeks with our parent/student meeting and first rehearsal on Monday, August 12th at 6:00pm in the the Armstrong Auditorium.
  • Drumline rehearsal begins TONIGHT from 6:30-8:30pm. Meet in the Band Room and use Door #42 to gain entrance to the building.
  • Our Section Leader Rehearsal/Meeting is next Monday, August 5th from 11:00am-1:00pm in the AHS Band Room (bring your instruments & music).
  • The 2019 Armstrong Marching Band Handbook is almost finished and will be coming soon.
  • Registration in the AHS Activities Office begins on Thursday, August 1st during school hours (7:30am-3:00pm). This must be taken care of by NOON on Wednesday, August 21st in order for students to participate in the State Fair Performance. There is a new process to apply for free/reduced lunch in order to qualify for the lowered Activity Fee, please take of this as early as possible.   • Please consider supporting our band students by bringing a donation to the August 12th meeting: cases of .5L/16.9oz bottled water, packages of 9oz paper cups, and cash/checks.
  • There will be NO Community Picnic this year, originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 20th. That night will just be a regular rehearsal.
  • Registration for the fall 2019 Marching Band Season is currently closed, BUT IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN!! If anyone is interested in joining the AHS Marching Band, please email Mr. Woelfle as soon as possible.
  • Individual student practice over the summer is essential for a successful fall season; please encourage your student to listen to, practice, and memorize the music over the summer time. It's not too late!! We only have 8 full rehearsals before our first major performance at the State Fair.
  • Students have already ordered an AHS MB T-Shirt through the Google Registration Form to be worn at the State Fair and several other performances. Parents & family members can order a shirt as well using this link - CLICK HERE. All family shirt orders must be placed by NOON on Thursday, August 1st.
