AHS MB Update - 9/30/19

Monday, 9/30 - Rehearsal - 6:00-8:15pm

We will meet in the Music Department to share the game plan for the evening. Be prepared for the weather, we will head outside if possible.


Wednesday, 10/2 - Rehearsal - 6:00-8:15pm

Same plan as Monday.


Fall Fundraiser Delivery - Wednesday, 10/2

Parts of the August Fundraiser were delayed and will be arriving during the day on Wednesday, 10/2. Students who sold these brochure items can pick them up from the Band Room right after school or at Wednesday Marching Band Rehearsal.


Friday, 10/4 - Homecoming Parade & Picnic

  • 4:00pm - Call time in Band Room (students wear school colors, NOT uniforms)
  • 4:15pm - Head to upper parking lot for parade
  • 4:30pm - Parade Starts
  • 5:00pm - Homecoming Picnic – hot dogs, chips, fruit, water (AHS MB Only)
  • 5:30pm – Resume usual football game routine
  • We still have several spots available to help with the Homecoming Picnic by either bringing in food donations or helping at the actual picnic. Please check out our SignUp Page.

Friday, 10/4 - Homecoming Game - 7:00pm Kickoff

  • 5:30pm - Uniform distribution begins
  • 5:45pm - Head to JV field for warm-up
  • 6:45pm - Pregame Show
  • 8:00pm (approx) - Halftime Show (Group A can leave after)
  • 9:30pm (approx) - Game Ends
  • Bring your instrument home after the football game for the Kelly Drive Parade


Saturday, 10/5 - Kelly Drive Parade - 1:00pm

There are several different details for this short, informal parade performance.

  • Students will NOT be wearing full uniforms, but their marching band t-shirts and blue jeans.
  • We will NOT be meeting at school. Students will meet at the SEA Elementary School parking lot (1751 Kelly Dr, Golden Valley, MN 55427) at 12:30pm and we ask that you carpool if at all possible.
  • Students will need to bring their instrument home from school and anyone needing assistance should speak to a director.
  • The parade begins at 1:00pm and there will be a Marching Band Party at Grant Litynski's house after the parade from 2-6pm. Information is attached to this email.


Monday, 10/7 - Rehearsal - 6:00-8:15pm

Wednesday, 10/9 - Rehearsal - 6:00-8:15pm

Friday, 10/11 - Football Game/Senior Recognition Night - 5:30pm call; 7:00 kickoff (NO SCHOOL THIS DAY)

We will recognize our senior band members and their parents at the conclusion of the half-time show. All senior parents are invited to join us this night to be recognized. During the half-time show, parents should make their way to the gate at the south end of the bleachers (to the right as you look at the field). There you will be met by some band boosters who will direct you where to go and give you a rose to present to your son or daughter. Students will be assigned a position along the out of bounds line based upon their ending spot in the final song and this chart can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. As names are read, families will meet in lane 1 of the track and the parents will present the rose to their student. The game will start at 7:00pm and half-time usually takes place around 8:00pm. During the 1st quarter, immediately after the band is done with the pre-game show, our parent photographers will take pictures of senior students with their parents. Please come down to the band area right away after the pregame show for this photo opportunity.


Monday, 10/14 - Rehearsal - 6:00-7:00pm

We will rehearse for just an hour to rehearse our indoor performance.


Tuesday, 10/15 - Parade of Bands Concert - 6:15pm call; 7:00pm Concert

  • 6:15pm - Marching Band Call Time (to dress in uniforms)
  • 6:30pm - Call time for Non-Marching Band Students (wearing concert black)
  • 7:00pm - Concert Starts
  • Freshman Band
  • Concert Band
  • Symphonic Band
  • Marching Band
