Course Description: Participants will learn: why teaching for creativity is important and possible across all subjects and at all ages, how to design learning experiences that foster creativity, how to learn and teach creative tools that they can use with their students and embed into their curriculum, how to curate resources designed by lead educators, and how to assess creative works and plan for a creative learning environment. By completing the institute, participants will receive their Level 1 and Level 2 Creative Educator Badges.

You must attend the full 6 hours for credit; no partial credit can be given.  There will be 30 min for lunch and lunch will be provided by Adobe.

23177 IT_eLearning: Digital Transformation: Making Thinking Visible with Google

Course Description: This course is part of the "Set Series" of classes to prepare teachers for planning and instruction with technology.  

In this course, teachers will explore the ways to provide experiences where students learn and show their understanding while creating. We focus on 3 Google Tools; Google Drawings, Google My Maps, and Google Sites, that will help teachers make student thinking visible, give every student a voice and allow them to share their work with an authentic audience.

This course is part of the Instructional Technology department's Digital Transformation series of classes to prepare teachers for planning and instruction with technology.  It is a intermediate level class so some of the first Digital Transformation classes are required prerequisites:

Course Description: In this course, teachers will explore ways to provide students with experiences creating with Book Creator on Chromebooks. Book Creator is a website that allows students to create books, comics, journals, and authentic learning artifacts, which they can publish online for others to view and read. We present examples that allow students to show their thinking and demonstrate their dynamic learning, that will help teachers give every student a voice and allow them to share their work with authentic audience. At the end of the class teachers will have an opportunity to receive a paid subscription to Book Creator to use on Chromebooks.

Course Description: In this course, teachers will explore ways to provide students with experiences creating with Padlet on Chromebooks. Padlet is a website that allows students to create an online bulletin board that they can use to display information for any topic, collaborate in collecting ideas, brainstorming, and more, which they can publish online for others to view and read. We present examples that allow students to show their thinking and demonstrate their dynamic learning, that will help teachers give every student a voice and allow them to share their work with authentic audience. At the end of the class teachers will have an opportunity to receive a paid subscription to Padlet to use on Chromebooks.

Course Description: Thinglink is a website that allows students and teachers to create interactive images and authentic learning artifacts, which they can publish online for others to view and read.

Through the modules, teachers will explore the ways to provide experience with Thinglink, where students learn and show their understanding while creating. We present examples that allow students to show their thinking and demonstrate their dynamic learning. Such experiences will help teachers give every student a voice and allow them to share their work with an authentic audience.

At the end of the class, teachers will have an opportunity to receive a paid subscription to Thinglink.

Course Description: In this class, we are going to explore Lumio, SMART Online. You will learn how to create a Lumio lesson incorporating engaging student-centered activities and formative assessments. Then we will show you how these lessons can be delivered face to face in the classroom or assigned for students to complete on their own. You will have a free Lumio account where you can add 10 lessons (counted as 50MB) to Lumio, SMART Online. At the end of this class you can request for the paid subscription of the Lumio by SMART which will give you unlimited amount of lessons you can create.

22314 IT_eLearning: SMART Suite: Enhancing Your Instruction with the SMART Notebook Introduction

Course Description: This is the first course in the SMART Learning Suite series. SMART Learning Suite can be used on SMART Boards, Interactive Flat Panel displays and touch screen devices.  The district is upgrading to SMART Learning Suite which starts at SMART Notebook version 17.

This course will prepare participants to explore the features of SMART Learning Suite. In it participants will explore and utilize Smart Notebook resources to enhance instruction. Participants will create their own SMART Notebook content using basic tools to support all learners.
