48242 CTE_Starting an eSport Club at Your School (Summer 2023)
Course Description: Teachers will be able to understand the gaming equipment and tech and be able to troubleshoot basic issues.
Teachers will be able to effectively facilitate 45 min. to 1-hour eSport sessions smoothly and efficiently.
Teachers will become more comfortable serving in the role of eSports Coach.
Teachers will be able to operate an eSports club at the end of the PLE training.
Teachers will understand the games, moves, strategies, fun, and career alignment in applicable eSport games (Rocket League)
The CTE Department has a contract with Concorde Education to use its research-based materials for the eSports Instructor training.
The following are examples of engagement strategies that will be used throughout the training: connecting to the real world, engaging with students’ interests, group work, and collaboration, giving students a say, allowing for thinking time, and encouraging friendly competition.
All participants must attend all sessions in a series in order to receive full credit.

36876 CTE_eLearning: Introduction to Work Based Learning
This course is for 9-12 High School Teachers and Staff.
Learning Outcomes/Goals: This PL will enable the audience to undergo a cohesive understanding of Work Based Learning, the CDOS Credential, and how they play a role in offering, monitoring, and documenting these student experiences.
New Knowledge: This course will provide information on NYS Registered and Unregistered Work Based Learning (WBL) Experiences along with answering the question "What is the CDOS Credential?" The NYS Registered programs that participants will learn about are: General Education Work Experience Program (GEWEP), the Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP), and the Co-Op program. This course will also cover what constitutes unregistered work experiences such as job shadowing, community service, volunteering, career-focused research projects, school-based enterprises, and community-based work programs.
What will participants do? This course will be provided through the eLearning platform which contains videos, discussion boards, and assessments. Participants will have one (1) week to successfully complete the eLearning course (Wednesday-Wednesday).
Research-based materials: The CTE Department partners with the CTE Technical Assistance Center (Albany, NY) in addition to NYSED to utilize research-based materials and resources for this training.
Engagement Strategies: The sessions will be offered through eLearning and will include videos and discussion boards.
Attendance requirements: Unsuccessful completion or a failing grade in the course will result in NO CREDIT. No partial credit will be awarded for this course.

48245 CTE_Project Based Learning (PBL): Summer 2023
Course Description: Participants will learn new instructional strategies to conduct their projects and effectively engage students.
What will participants do? Working both individually and in small groups, participants will create a PBL that aligns with their specific CTE curriculum.
Research-Based Materials: The CTE Department has partnered with CTE Technical Assistance Center (Albany, NY) to use its research-based materials for this PBL course.
Engagement Strategies: The two sessions will be in person and will include break-out groups, hands-on activities, group discussions, presentations, and the creation of PBL classroom tools.
Attendance requirements: All participants must attend all sessions in a series to receive full credit.

48246 CTE_eSports Curriculum Integration (Summer 2023)
Course Description: Participants will be familiar with the eSports curriculum. Participants will be able to turnkey the eSports curriculum at their respective eSport Clubs across the District. Participants will understand the available eSports curriculum resources available for their respective clubs.
Participants will work with other eSport club facilitators to discuss the curriculum outcomes. In addition, participants will work with the training facilitators directly to understand and integrate the curriculum into their eSports clubs.
