Course Description: This course prepares participants to understand the purpose of the RCSD Common Formative Assessments. Participants will understand how the CFAs are connected to the RCSD Curriculum and the NYS Standards; as well as how to best use that understanding for planning instruction.  Participants will understand the importance of the NYS standards and how the CFAs can be used to support instruction and assessment of these standards in everyday instruction.    There will be opportunities to locate data in Edulastic and further explore the variety of reports available and their purposes of them .Engagement will be supported through: information will be presented visually; professional learning at an individual pace; the information will be meaningful to support student needs; collaboration with colleagues; time to use what is learned with own data to allow practice.

Course Description: This course is designed to help teachers build understanding of the NYS Computer Based Testing. They will go through the timeline for the roll out of this state wide endeavor. They will understand the formatting for ELA, Math and Science and the preparing that will need to be in place to ensure that students are ready for success for all NYS assessments. Participants will create a plan to incorporate what was learned within the school day to support all learning. Course Description: This PD is for K-8 Teachers. This course prepares you to use data from the i-Reaady Diagnostic Growth (Class) and (Student) reports to collaborate with students and engage them in their own learning. You'll be able to use this data to determine how your students are growing throughout the year. This course will discuss how to best use i-Ready report data to conduct data chats, set goals, and celebrate growth with students. Conducting data chats is a strategy that can deepen your classroom data culture by empowering students to feel ownership of their learning and get excited about their progress and growth. In this course, you will focus on: How to use data chats to increase student engagement. In addition, we’ll share the options for using the Progress Monitoring forms and explain how to administer and score the tasks to conduct systematic progress monitoring.
