Safety Plans
Safety plans are created, updated and followed to protect the safety of students and staff. Safety plans should be created for students that are a risk to self (flight risk, self injurious behavior) and/or risk to others (aggressive behavior towards other students and staff). Safety plan creation is to be a collaborative process that includes input from classroom educators, school administrators, SERTS and SSCs as appropriate to the needs of the individual student.
*Note: the safety plan that is in IEP writer is still available for students that have IEPs at this time. Students without an IEP cannot have their safety plan stored within IEP writer. For that reason and to promote consistency, the school team may decide that it makes sense to move all safety plans to one of the templates below and stored in one place. In the future, as a district we will be moving to the newer safety plan model as it provides a more comprehensive plan for student safety.
