Each school is allotted one psycho-ed assessment to start the year. The school determines which student will receive the assessment and submits a referral.
Step 1: Complete a current KTEAIII and submit it to your Special Education Consultant for approval (Cindy Brash, Jennifer Francis, or Melissa Vena). Note: A signed SS1a is required to complete a KTEAIII assessment.
Step 2: Once you receive approval from your Special Education Consultant you will need to complete an SS1b and school questionnaire. Scan and email the KTEAIII, SS1b and questionnaire to your Special Education Consultant.
Step 3: The Psychometrist will coordinate a day for the testing to be completed with the student.
*At this time, we ask that all considerations for Psych Ed referrals are brought to your consultant before being actioned*
Melanie joined the RCDSB Special Services team in 2023 as a psychometrist. While working within the autism program at CHEO, she recognized her passion for working with children with various needs. After that, Melanie broadened her clinical experience administering psychological measures with children, youth and adults with a focus on neurodiversity, inclusion, and thoroughly assessing needs to find just the right supports for students. Melanie will be working at each of the schools across the board.
